Beautiful, ugly, thinking, real

A portfolio should not only show polished work. It should show how decisions were made—and what existed outside the mockup.

Beautiful, ugly, thinking, real

I have been trying to organize my work around four kinds of evidence: beautiful, ugly, thinking, and real.

Beautiful is the final result. Ugly is the sketch, the rejected version, the V1 that tried to do too much. Thinking is why a decision happened. Real is proof something lived outside Figma—users, revenue, an event, a driveway, a pitch, a physical model.

Admissions readers are not only asking whether I can make something look finished. They are asking how I notice problems, build systems, and learn when reality pushes back.
